Russell Domingo resigns as Bangladesh head coach without completing tenure

Two days after the house Test collection towards India, Russell Domingo has resigned as the Bangladesh head coach without completing his tenure that ran until the 2023 World Cup.

Domingo joined as head coach in September 2019 after the BCB sacked Steve Rhodes following the World Cup debacle that 12 months. Under him, Bangladesh received T20I collection towards Australia and New Zealand at house, a Test in New Zealand (for the primary time), an ODI collection win in South Africa and at house towards India.

“He( Domingo) sent his resignation letter yesterday (Tuesday) and that is with immediate effect,” Bangladesh Cricket Board cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus informed Cricbuzz on Wednesday.

Earlier, BCB president Nazmul Hasan had hinted that although they’re proud of Domingo’s efficiency he is perhaps axed as they’re eyeing an overhaul within the teaching set-up.

“We are moving with a long-term plan and that is not short-term. It is a three to four years plan and if changes are required (to implement those plans) there will be changes,” Nazmul informed reporters on Monday.

Bangladesh misplaced two-match Test collection 2-0 towards India and will probably be thought of as the final project of Domingo.
