West Ham sign Mexico midfielder Edson Alvarez from Ajax


West Ham have signed Mexico midfielder Edson Álvarez from Ajax on a five-year deal, the Premier League membership introduced on Thursday.

West Ham didn’t disclose phrases, however Ajax mentioned the 2 golf equipment had agreed a switch price of €38 million ($41.90m), which may improve to €41m with add-ons.

“We’re really pleased to add Edson to our squad,” West Ham supervisor David Moyes mentioned after his first signing of the summer time switch window.

“The midfield area was one we were especially keen to strengthen this summer, and Edson will complement the other options we have in that department.

“He’s an skilled worldwide participant who has loved nice success for each membership and nation throughout his profession thus far.”

The 25-year-old had twice helped Ajax to win the Eredivisie since his arrival in 2019, making 147 appearances and scoring 13 targets in all competitions.

Álvarez has been capped 69 instances for Mexico, taking part in on the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

His arrival shall be a lift for the Hammers, who offered England midfielder Declan Rice to Arsenal in a deal price £105m — a report switch between two British golf equipment.
